Shadows - What are they?
This afternoon Rosie introduced us to our new science unit for this term. We will be learning about the relationships between earth, the sun, the stars and the moon. Rosie read us a story called, 'My Shadow'. We talked to our talking partners about shadows and why they changed. Sam, Brooklyn and Helen talked about the position of the sun and how it makes your shadow change depending on where it is in the sky. Rosie asked us about how shadows were made. James, Sam, Jordan and Grace said that shadows were made from blocking light. We decided to try this theory by blocking light in our class, it was lots of fun.

Molly says if you block the light what ever is in it's way causes a shadow.
ReplyDeleteHelen says a shadow is also caused by light because it is blocking it and it doesn't have to be bright.
ReplyDeletewow that must of been really fun finding out how shadows are made. its really fun looking at the shapes of the shadows as well as finding out how are shadows made.
